Actually, Makode, it ain't funny.

If we ever needed any more proof of how necessary a Black Woman's movement is, we got it not too long ago in the form a despicable display of Black Woman and Black Girl hate hidden under the guise of "artistic expression". Sisters, how long are we going to allow the idea of artistic expression to be used to denigrate us and our daughters?

You see, if I had so powerful a platform as the attention of the Western media and even someone of great political standing such as THE CULTURE MINISTER OF ONE OF THE GREATEST FEMINIST NATIONS ON EARTH and I had such great artistic talents and could use them to raise my voice to decry the evils of something as horrifying as Female Genital Mutilation, I wouldn't for minute want that message to be misconstrued by making light of a vary serious problem. Sisters, this is why it is now critical more than ever that we have control over our own image as men and women of all persuasions will use it to their own gain and to our detriment.

And let's not forget what Mokode-dummy was supposedly protesting against. Every day, a young African girl is mutilated and permanently damaged all for the pleasure of a man. Her vagina is destroyed and tightened all so that her father can control her sexuality and her husband can enjoy a tight vagina. This act of hatred for the female body is not done for her benefit, but for the benefit of others.Sex can be both agonizing and unfulfilling and childbirth can be excruciatingly painful. ALL DUE TO THE FEAR THAT SHE WILL BECOME SEXUALLY PROMISCUOUS AND ENSURE HER HUSBAND GETS A VIRGIN.

Please tell me, what's so funny about this?

And how funny does this sound to you?

I bet you're slapping your knees and crying tears of laughter right now, aren't you?

To Makode and Lena.....

And FUCK anybody else who dares to make fun at the mutilation and humiliation of a Black Woman/Girl's body.

And just for the record I am EQUALLY against the mutilation of baby boys. Those cries aren't any funnier.

Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.-1 Corinthians 7:19
